WHISTLEBLOWER POLICY

Purpose

Beyond Barriers Disability Foundation is committed to the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct. This Whistleblower Policy is designed to encourage and protect individuals who report concerns about unethical or illegal conduct within our organization. We believe that transparency and accountability are essential to our mission of enhancing accessibility and advocating for systemic change.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, contractors, board members, and any other individuals associated with Beyond Barriers Disability Foundation.

Reporting Concerns

​

Individuals are encouraged to report concerns about any of the following:

  • Fraud, theft, or embezzlement

  • Misuse of resources

  • Violations of laws or regulations

  • Breaches of organizational policies or ethical standards

  • Any other activity that may undermine the integrity of Beyond Barriers Disability Foundation.

Reports can be made through the following channels:

  1. Direct Reporting: Individuals may report concerns directly to their supervisor, manager, or the designated Whistleblower Officer.

  2. Anonymous Reporting: Concerns can be reported anonymously through a secure online reporting tool or by mailing a letter to the Whistleblower Officer at Beyond Barriers Disability Foundation

Whistleblower Protection

​

Beyond Barriers Disability Foundation is committed to protecting whistleblowers from retaliation. Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. This includes any form of harassment, discrimination, or adverse employment actions.

Investigation Process

​

  1. Receipt of Report: Upon receiving a report, Beyond Barriers Disability Foundation will acknowledge receipt and provide an initial response within a reasonable timeframe.

  2. Investigation: The Whistleblower Officer will conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the reported concerns. Investigations will be carried out in a confidential manner to the extent possible.

  3. Outcome: After the investigation, appropriate actions will be taken based on the findings. This may include corrective actions, policy changes, or disciplinary measures as necessary.

Confidentiality

​

All reports and investigations will be handled with the utmost confidentiality. The identity of the whistleblower and any individuals involved in the investigation will be kept confidential, except where disclosure is necessary for the investigation or required by law.

Review and Monitoring

​

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Feedback on the policy and reporting process is encouraged to improve our practices.
